Grass Rivulet

Perizoma albulata (70.137)

The Grass Rivulet is a local and occasionally common species with a distinctly southern distribution in the county.

It prefers open, dry, calcareous grasslands on roadside and railway embankments, disused quarries and occasionally woodland rides.

The adult butterflies are on the wing from May to July. They are best seen late in the afternoon or early evening.

Look out for this moth at Ashlawn Cutting, Draycote Water, Oversley Wood and areas of calcareous grassland containing Yellow Rattle in the southern half of the county.
